I have a fun Valentine’s Day project for you today that is so simple and super cute!
Introducing fingerprint heart mugs!
Aren’t they sweet?
I love decorating with neutral colors no matter what the holiday and I think these are a perfect gift for a loved one.
In fact, you might even want to wrap up some homemade hot cocoa bombs in a cute clear bag and place them inside!
I am going to show you how to make these mugs with permanent hearts that are dishwasher safe AND ones that will wash off when you are done using, if you would like to keep your mugs plain white!
To make the dishwasher safe mugs you will need:
WHITE MUGS
THIS BLACK PORCELAIN PAINT
To make the temporary heart mugs you will need:
WHITE MUGS
Where to buy the materials:
MUGS-
You can buy plain white mugs just about anywhere.
I bought mine at the Dollar Tree.
Here is some cute ones at Target that are off white which I really like.
Here are some quick ship ones on Amazon.
And I love these.
These stack and are great for small space storage.
PAINT AND SHARPIES-
You can find porcelain paint here as well as sharpies. You might even already have sharpies on hand!
OTHER-
I tried several products to clean the black off my thumbs after this project, and found this to be the best at getting all the color off.
Instructions:
Simply cover your thumb with either black sharpie or paint.
Press the left side of your thumb onto the mug to make the left side of the heart and the right side of your thumb for the right side of your heart.
You can practice on paper first if you don’t feel confident starting directly on your mug.
You will need to re-apply the pen or paint for each heart.
I hope you have fun making these lovely heart mugs with your loved ones!
